Content: I’ve read everything that’s been going on in 2005, as the last entry in 04 was in September. I thought a lot might had changed like then.
I liked the title, espescially since I read what you had written ‘for reviewers’ and it was a good idea. As reading about your wedding and about your parent’s death, I first think: I want more emotion. Could you put more emotion into the text, illustrating your feelings more than saying ‘I felt he had betrayed us’. Yeah, I am sure you did, but anyway, could you express this in a more emotional way? You write very much about what goes on in daily life (too much?) but as you wrote: I am tired of writing about ‘the virtues of Bloomingdale’s. ‘ thank you. Because for a reader to keep on reading, no it’s not interesting! I’d advise you to either be more emotional or more sarcastic like inthis entry. You much more express the matter of the case, though this depends on what you want to use the diary for.
You must ask yourself whether this diary is for writing shortly about daily life for the after time (went to work, walked home. At 7 I went for John’s for a vorspiel. The party was at Webster’s bar. I was home at 4 A.M) or a more emotional diary, like I guess we’ve all read many places. Sometimes I feel you are lost in between.
You could think more over how you express yourself. What do you want to express? Then think how can I express this? [15/45]
Layout: I don’t like the layout at all. Might be just me caught up in ‘Scandinavian minimalism’ but the layout is also in between something. The text: ‘On an island in the sun we’ll be playing and having fun’ is OK. You say you like to switch layouts: dear Sarah, please do so! No one deserves Hawaii-theme in their diary. [5/20]
Mechanics: Sehr gut! Ich liebe es. [10/10]
Extras: Good. You’ve got favourite entries, reviews, the books you’ve read, the music you like, quotes, fav. Websites.[10/10]
Contact: Good.[5/5]
Navigation: As I would say in Norwegian: utmerket! (excellent)[5/5]
Link: Favourite websites ++++[5/5]
Favorite Quote: "I never liked the concept of a huge theatrical wedding, anyway. Every one I’ve attended felt like a show, a way to show how large your trust fund is, and not a declaration of undying love or a joining of two souls or whatever other cliché (and it’s a cliché for a reason—because it’s true and what should be) there is." (about the wedding). You’re no new Oscar Wilde when it comes to excellent sayings at all, but you get to the point quickly!
Favorite Entry: This one. You express yourself well and it’s quite funny in a way.
Return Trips?: No, I won’t return – see final comments.
Final Comments: I won’t return, because your content is way too boring. I can’t understand who would have real interest in reading most of your writings.
